An
editorial in yesterday's NEWSDAY decried the sexual abuse of children by members of the clergy but was even more vocal in condemning legislation proposed by New York State Assemblyperson Margaret Markey (D-Maspeth) which it describes as "an ill-advised bill that would tamper with the deadlines for bringing childhood sexual abuse lawsuits." It goes on to say that "suspending these time limits would be an extraordinary attempt to upend our legal traditions."
